LPG connections reached 32 crores under Ujjwala scheme
The Petroleum Minister said that in 2014, the number of our LPG connections was only 14 crores. Only 55 percent of the population had LPG cylinders. Now this number has reached 32 crores. All mothers and sisters now have access to LPG. Our Ujjwala scheme has been very successful. Hardeep Singh Puri said that oil production from 98/2 well will increase to 45,000 barrels per day very soon. Along with this, gas production will also start soon. ONGC has issued a tender to find an international technology partner for this project.
Ethanol mixing will be increased to 20%
Hardeep Singh Puri has reiterated the commitment to achieve the target of 20 per cent ethanol blending by 2025. The minister said that only in May we were able to cross 15 per cent ethanol blending. He further said that as you know the Prime Minister had originally set a target of 20 per cent ethanol mix by 2030. He has also announced to promote green hydrogen in the next term. Hardeep Singh Puri said that green hydrogen plants will be set up soon in refineries in Panipat (10 KTA), Mathura (5 KTA) and Paradip (10 KTA). The first green hydrogen plant (10 MW) was commissioned on May 27, 2024. The green hydrogen station in Kochi has been commissioned for the bus running from Kochi airport.
